I have been influenced by visual art and film for as long as I can remember. It all started with the design and animation I used to watch on Sesame Street growing up in the 1970s. In elementary school, I paid close attention to the layout in my school textbooks, and the design of cereal boxes, toy packaging and magazines. It inspired me to draw, starting out by recreating the illustrations in my childhood books and the cartoon characters on television. I became addicted to drawing and it became my favorite hobby. When I began to buy music, my interest in graphic design flourished once I discovered the unique and striking record cover art by designers like Peter Saville, Vaughan Oliver and Reid Miles. As I grew older, I became intrigued by poster designs from the 1960s and mid 1970s. I was also a fan of film title sequences, specifically Maurice Binder's titles for the James Bond films, Pablo Ferro's sequences for "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "Dr. Strangelove" and Kyle Cooper's work for the movie "Seven".

As a record collector/deejay, I often find myself looking in the used bins for records with interesting sleeve art to add to my collection. Music is another big influence on me and one of my favorite styles is known as cut-n-paste or "cut up" music, which more or less consists of layered sampled loops. This style can be heard on classic albums such as "3 Feet High and Rising" by De La Soul, and "Paul's Boutique" by Beastie Boys. Just like cut up producers such as Double Dee and Steinski, Major Force and Coldcut took elements from different styles to create something new, my design style pays homage to the 60's/70's design aesthetic, yet reflects my interest in pop culture, contemporary graphic design, color and street art.
